The Delta BioFuels plant is located on over 60 acres on the Mississippi River in Natchez, Mississippi. In addition to barge access, the plant is serviced by Canadian Railways and has fully-functioning tank truck loading and unloading facilities.
The plant has four 20,000 gallon reactors, one capable of 50 psig operating pressure and approximately 15 tanks with agitation of various sizes. In addition, the plant has a cooling tower with circulation header throughout the plant, pipe racks and a methanol/distillation column capable of 20 gpm of 80% water/20% methanol separation. The plant is controlled by a state-of-the-art PLC system that results in a fully-automated production process to optimize production and methanol recovery.
The plant is powered by twin boiler systems capable of 40 MMBTU/hr each of 175 PSI steam (375F) as well as 10 MMBTU/hr hot oil circulation.
The plant has received Coast Guard certification and has implemented OSHA process safety management procedures. Corporate offices are located in 10,000 square feet of office space on-site.
Feedstock is primarily soybean oil, but the plant is capable of running several types of feedstocks and vegetable oil blends. Production capacity is between 80-100 million gallons per year.
